When that happens, the Institute makes the recordings available to AIRS so that they can continue to serve the community. In the past these have included descriptions of the Tournament of Roses, the Braille Challenge and seminars on advances in vision.
CCLVI Vision LecturesCouncil of Citizens With Low Vision International Lectures: Listen to a variety of topics that are specially designed for people who are partially sighted. Dr. Bill Takeshita presents these lectures each month and topics will include low vision and driving, signs and symptoms of emergency vision problems, what's new in low vision aids, and more.
Cooking In The DarkCooking In The Dark is the brainchild of Dale Campbell, of BlindMiceMart.com. Each show leads you through preparation of a delicious meal that's easy and fun to prepare. The preparation is spiced with running commentary and repartee between Dale and his companion, Cheryl and includes a discussion of labor saving kitchen devices and techniques for the visually impaired.
Cooks IllustratedCook's Illustrated is dedicated to finding the best methods for preparing foolproof home-cooked meals. Unlike some glossy cooking magazines, it's staffed with cooks and editors - not food stylists. Their test kitchen - in which they film the public television show, "America's Test Kitchen" - has three dozen full-time test cooks whose job is testing and retesting recipes 20, 30, sometimes 50 times until they can offer you a recipe that will work every time.
